Boycotting is certainly valid, but you underestimate the power of the CN fanbase with Mihoyo. There was a "fix" to a character just the other day that messed with a certain playstyle, CN fans kicked up a fuss, and it was rolled back a day or two later. That isn't even getting into the long history of CN fans suing and reporting consumer fraud over changes. Mihoyo will give specific rewards to CN players and caters to them specifically.

That's all to say that if CN players make complaints, it is MUCH more likely for changes to happen than anything the Western playerbase has to say or do.

Yeah but that's the thing, it's been a huge issue since Sumeru at the latest, yet people were still chucking money at them. And sure, the western fandom doesn't really count for much in the grand scheme of things but if people keep buying, nothing will change.

The actual Chinese players mostly don't care or actually like the designs. Maybe Twitter likes to imagine their support, but it just isn't true.

I just think it's kinda funny though how some of the current "fan recolours" going around are actually just as racist, just in the other direction. Also, can we please stop fetishising skin conditions?

yeah i actually have a friend who is native brazillian and who is really mad at all of the fan recolors because it ignores the fact that there are many, many hispanics/latinos who DON'T have dark skin. and my friend is one of them.

This like going to a comment that says "damn it's so hot, some people here are really not good at dealing with that heat and collapsing because of it" and saying "Oh I don't know, heat is relative, everyone deals with heat differently".

Yes, and some people actually collapse because of it, what's your point here?

And in this case, spamming OTT insults (and sometimes silly threats) towards the devs along with your Capslock demands for changes and losing your mind with every post from the official twitter where they don't grovel for forgiveness, is pretty tantrum-y.
