“But the secrets look pretty!” - FS yesterday.

Sorry secret maker but I’m not a fan. They really are all so pretty but even the best ones are kinda hard read and both of them today are impossible for me.

You can use Canva for free to make secrets every bit as gorgeous as the AI ones you’ve been submitting but without the text obscured. Canva has layers like photoshop so you can just bring the text to the front. And the paid version of Canva has AI I think (paid version isn’t worth it just for FS but if you do any other graphics or even photo editing, it’s absolutely worth it!)

Just curious, why do you (and everyone else) think they are AI? I just assumed the maker was playing with layers and making poor choices.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-24 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Because most AI can’t handle text and the ones that do are known for putting it behind the background. And our resident secret maker(s?) are very skilled at secret design. I can totally understand choosing to go the AI route to make it faster, which is why I mentioned Canva. If they don’t do the paid version, they can just use templates and it will still be a faster way to churn out many secrets in a short time with great graphics that fit the secret.

Interesting! I am bad at spotting AI. I mostly just notice the really glaring things like too many limbs.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I’ve actually overlooked that stuff before LOL I mostly see AI used for home design so I’m better at spotting it in that context. Although sometimes it’s hard because windows where they shouldn’t be is a real thing in new build homes in the US.

1) they are... slimy in a machine generated way (I really don't understand what is so pretty about this shit. It just looks like piece of slime to me)
2) flowers and spheres in some of them are just wrong in this specific way
I don't always see it but flowers are really noticeable

1) If it looks like literal slime to you, you should probably see a doctor. It just looks like cheap CG.
2) You made your point days ago and this particular batch of secrets can’t be unsubmitted. It’s taking a lot longer to scroll past your multiple, childish complaints every night than it does to scroll past the stupid AI secrets.
3) Take a kit-kat break.

1) so you don't know what association means? It looks slimy to me, it looks like cheap CG to you. Our descriptions are equally valid.
2) I didn't, because it's the first time I am writing about. Because this batch is the first that really annoys me. Several people can dislike AI crap that they can't read. Shocking, I know.
3) Girl (gender neutral. Derogatory)

FS Antagonizer's Law: real people do not agree with one another. Therefore, if two or more anons share an opinion, they must all be the same person.

Are we sure it's the usual secret maker at all?

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
No, we aren’t. There have been at least two active over the last couple years. It’s possible this is someone else entirely. I don’t really pay attention to the secret maker posts because I like to read the secrets after they’ve been made pretty :) But I do know I’ve seen sometimes when they go up that they’ll say they’re the usual or the alternate, that sort of thing.

Secret maker here... (but not the maker of this particular secret!)

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hello, I'm the one who does the "Secrets you don't want to make..." threads. This isn't my work and I have no idea how to do stuff like hiding text behind an image. I also don't know how people use AI to make secrets, if that's what's happening here?

Cheers,

a secret maker

In my mind, you’re Primary Secret Maker and we also have Alternate Secret Maker. I didn’t think it would be either one of you because you’re both very skilled and put a lot of thought into making our secrets for us. I couldn’t see either of you being ok with submitting something with obvious errors, especially ones that make it hard to read the secret.

Thank you as always for everything you do for us <3

Yesterday's secret wasn't as difficult to read as today's are.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Today's secrets are actually hard to read due to the hidden text. There's a couple of words where I genuinely can't tell what they are supposed to be.

If the anon who complained yesterday had waited until today's batch a lot more people would have agreed with them, I think.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Even the ones I can read just throw me right out of the secret when I get to the messed up parts. The wonky or obscured text mars the whole thing.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
They've been doing it for a few days now, and this is not the first batch with unreadably obscured text, just the worst one.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-25 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
DA The very first one I saw actually about a week ago I think was really hard to read because of it. I couldn’t tell if there was a typo or if it was a translation error and then finally I realised it was because the background was covering the text in random spots. I was reading letters as they displayed, not as they had been typed.
