(Anonymous) 2024-07-26 02:46 am (UTC)(link)But I do think a lot of AUs are boring - I think there are some AUs where they're being written because the writer, frankly, just didn't have any interesting or new ideas. AUs have to be executed well and there should be some reason that you're choosing the setting you're choosing. Especially for things like coffeeshop AUs that have been done a million times over. Sometimes it CAN be done well but it rarely is.
