Fair enough. A lot of people (myself included) are hypothetically okay with the idea that some people would be best put down, but are against the death penalty because, in practice, it is impossible to prevent it from being used prejudicially, as well as used against innocent parties. Personally I know a lot more people who are against the death penalty for the reasons I've described than people who are against the death penalty for "murder is murder" reasons.
