By "weird hang ups" I don't mean "cute little quirks like men vs. women shopping habits like in a 90s stand up routine", I mean:

* thinking/evaluating women in terms of their fuckability first and not seeming to realize that they're people, with feelings
* Madonna/whore complex issues.
* thinks it's okay to describe underage female characters in terms of their breasts and sexual appeal like it's not creepy at all
* deeply invested in traditional gender roles
* bitterness and simmering anger over attractive women who won't date/fuck them and how that makes them an awful person and himself their helpless victim
* wants sex desperately but thinks women are evil sluts for being sexy but lusts after them anyway but gets angry about the whole thing

If you've never seen any of those issues come up with male behavior and from time to time, in writing, then you're very lucky. Or not very observant.
