re the inaccuracy, the people making the show have always said that they aren't even trying to be completely historically inaccurate. The clothes are inspired by regency era and have elements of that, but they lean into the "romantic fantasy" of the show and elevate the clothing to make the scenes more romantic or dramatic.

I have noticed on occasion that some of the outfits look very department store quality over haute couture fashion, but its not something I am looking hard at.

I think season 3 clothes somehow looked less "inspired by" and more Reign levels of costuming.
