Not sure how to break this to you but you've probably seen more trans people around than you think, you just never realized.

Most people don't wonder whether the fat dude with a beard was afab, or the random middle aged lady was amab. Because why would you, unless you're the type of person who wonders about this all the time about everyone?

It's not about wondering. It's about noticing. It hardly takes a second thought.

Part of the reason there's such a huge push for puberty blockers is because once someone has gone through puberty, the shape of their body matches their natal sex, and it becomes much, much harder to pass post-transition. The best most people can hope for is for someone to be momentarily confused.

Sure, sure. You'll believe what you want, no convincing you. I find it funny how some people must believe themselves that not a single trans person has ever flown under their radar, though.

I said about there's the rare tallish trans man out there who manages to do it, so no, I don't believe that not a single trans person has ever flown under the radar.

But look, anon, this isn't about what I believe; this is legitimately a whole, long-standing conversation wrt puberty blockers. Part of the whole point of not going through the "wrong" puberty, of pausing it and getting on opposite-sex hormones instead, is because someone who does so will pass. Transitioning after puberty all but ensures clocking.

Yeah, this. I have trans friends who have transitioned before puberty and trans friends who have transitioned after puberty and in most cases the difference is VERY noticeable.

DA, even transitioning during adolesence has visible differences. My ex partner socially transitioned at 13 (and medically at 17) and still blends in IRL. Those who come out earlier also blend in easier with cis people of their gender since they lived that way longer.
