Is it just me or are there a LOT of people in fandom, particularly SFF, that just find sports the stupidest thing ever? Because I'm always kind of surprised when I find someone who's into fandom and not ... completely turned off by the numbing plotlessness of spectator athletics.

As someone who's been in fandom and is also a bit of a sports nerd, I have observed it and found it kind of disappointing.

I dunno, I've found both folks who enjoy sports and others who are indifferent to them. IME, it's usually baseball or wrestling that fans are crazy about.
