... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that secrets with lots of text are sometimes difficult to accommodate and I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I really liked Deadpool and Wolverine, despite the mean-spirited death of Chris Evan's Human Torch from the old FF movies, but I am more than happy for it to be the final Deadpool movie. It really did feel more like a celebratory lap of honor or a greatest hits album than anything else. It just didn't have the same heart as the previous ones.

I've never seen a Robert Altman movie, and I never seem to quite find the time to rectify that. I don't know what that says about me.

Canon shippers have always made me embarrassed to call myself a canon shipper.

I don't think my ships are superior, I'm just a simp who goes along with whatever canon gives me. And not all of the time. I surprise myself every now and then.

I really wish Blackmore's Night would make proper official music videos instead of using the weirdest AI generated animation for them. I honestly don't know why Ritchie and Candice chose that path.

I'd have enjoyed the new Caped Crusader cartoon more if it had stayed away from the supernatural part of the Batman mythos and solely leaned into the traditional Noirish elements. I did not need the ghosties and vampires.

I've dabbled in RPF in a variety of fandoms (movie casts, the Olympics) and generally enjoy it.

For some reason, though, YouTuber RPF squicks me out something fierce.

I usually defend bad Trek characters by saying that the problem is not the actor, but the writers. Neelix is annoying but Ethan really goes all in when they give him the material and does his best when they don't. Same with Archer, Bakula is a great actor when they write to his strengths as an actor. But with Burnham... Neither Martin-Green nor the writers had the goods and it showed, painfully. Good acting can save bad writing, and sometimes if the writing is good enough it can even save bad acting, but when the writing and the acting is bad.

I don't understand why non-fandom people take part in fandom friending memes. Especially the ones who go on to say they don't understand why anyone's in fandom. Then why did I meet you on a fandom friending meme?

In the year 2024, in internet fandom of all places, it amazes me how many people don't quite grasp the idea of what a troll is.

A troll doesn't have to be lying or saying fake things or claiming things they don't believe in order to be a troll. All it has to do is be deliberately trying to offend or get a rise out of others, even if it believes everything it saying.

"Boo hoo, how dare you, I'm not a troll, I believe in the intentionally inflammatory thing I said!" Sorry, grandma, I don't think you quite get how this slang works.

The real reason I want Batman movies to be period pieces, the honest reason, all cities these days are all glass sided skyscrapers. There are no more gargoyles and precipices to lurk in the shadows of like a caped badass. Even the few old ones left are overshadowed by the featureless boxes. You can't ledge hop up those with a grappling hook. It just breaks my suspension of disbelief too much.

I want a tv show that is set in a fantasy world with kings and dragons, but is filmed as a Noir story. All speakeasies and world weary detectives, maybe a tavern dame with gams that went all the way up to her chainmail.

It is such shame we don't get more of Tasha's backstory in Star Trek. A former Federation colony whose arrogance got the better of them til they left thinking they were better than all that, and then it fell into chaos, poverty, and internecine suffering and fighting... They had the perfect metaphor for Brexit thirty years before Brexit was even a thing. I hope future Trek returns to it.

I think it's weird to bring RDJ back as Doctor Doom, but I am genuinely confused by the uproar of hatred because he's not Romani (and apparently DD is). Are there a fuck ton of top billed male Romani actors (genuine question), and why does ethnicity seem to matter more for Romani characters than like... any other 'white' character who gets played by someone of another ethnicity?

It just feels strange to me and like I am missing something.

My favorite parts of movies and tv shows are the fluffy slice of life stuff at the start and first few episodes, when we are getting to know the characters. Once the plot kicks in, my interest dies off.

I sometimes fear I won't get to reach the end of Deltarune.

Not because I think the developers will quit or that I won't see chapter 7 for some other reason (knock on wood, jfc). But because these decrepit old hands don't work a controller as well as they used to. (I suppose I could always just watch a streamer, but my pride is still fighting me on that.)

Hamish Linklater is no Kevin Conroy. Conroy could put a lot of inflection into that flat growl of his, Linklater is just flat in his flat growl. Maybe he'll get better, but I doubt it.
