I'm sick of hearing comments about how Hazbin looks "middle school edgy" and people can't take it seriously, Like I can get it but I'm tired of hearing people come in to say that when someone talks about the show.

Congrats.. your opinion is far from rare. I just don't see why people feel the need to say this when they see people discussing the show/characters/lore. It's very much coming into piss on people's squee.

If you're not into it... fuckin move along. (maybe I'm oversensitive bc this show has a hatedom that never seems to shut up on insulting and even attacking the fanbase or telling people why they shouldn't support it bc VIVIZIE)

It is what it is, works well for the tone of the show, and if it's not your cup of tea that's fine. Watch a cartoon with a different art style.

Nah. If you want a space where everyone thinks Hazbin is nice, form a show-centric comm instead of bringing it to a mixed space full of people who have an opinion you don't like to hear.

It's just such a boring opinion at this point. We get it, you don't like the show, and you need everyone to know the art style doesn't appeal to you personally. Do you want a prize?

okay lemme ask you a question. If people are having a discussion about a character motives characterization and what not as fans of the show and you come in to say "lol i can't take this character to seriously he looks so deviant art" what exactly the FUCK are you contributing to the discussion????

*shrugs* That wasn't me (although the anon's actual description made me laugh and I replied to their comment), but when the whole comm's having to read a post that calls Alastor "one of the most powerful overlords ever" I can see why people are balking.

If I posted a secret about my very serious feels over "the great Jedi Knight" Ima Gun Die, someone would object to canon slapping viewers across the face with how little it respects us. If they all just politely kept quiet, people who grew up with this media would think that's well received. It's not.

There was still plenty of room for other people to reply and have the discussion they wanted about whether this character can realistically show compassion in fanfic.

I see secrets for fandoms I'm not in all the time that sound ridiculous out of context, I typically say nothing because I typically have nothing on topic to add. Going out of your way to read and nitpick secrets for fandoms you're not in so you can complain is just being a hater.

for someone who hates "middle school" art styles, you sure complain like a middle schooler.

Also, someone did give a differing opinion about the art style in that thread, and the person reacted as though they were being personally criticized, and not just...mutually sharing opinions and perspectives. So their whole "Other people are allowed to have an opinion even if you don't agree with it" thing feels pretty hypocritical rn.

I don’t have an opinion on the show one way or the other and agree with you. The She-Ra remake had a couple secrets right at the beginning with FSers who didn’t like the art jumping on the threads but they backed off quickly. That meant people could and did talk about the secrets. But for Hazbin it seems like someone needs to stick their hateboner into every secret thread. And usually it derails any discussion about the actual secret.

Like TBH in a way the fact it draws on that certain style visually might be part of what I like about it ..Certain characters (like Alastor) make my 15 year old fangirl self squee and kick my feet.

It's style is a fond callback to stuff that's from more positive parts of my teen years if that makes any sense
