Nope.

I'm saying if humans could Magically detect biological sex via pheromones, then straight dudes would avoid Trans women who aren't on estrogen . They certainly wouldn't find themselves attracted to those women.

In other words I'm trying to say that humans cannot magically detect biological sex.

Ok, but if transwomen are women then they're going to produce the pheromones of women. Trans-ness is biological.

DA
lmao trans women are women but they are not CIS women and they are the first ones to be aware of that. you all have to stop trying this stupid GOTCHA bullshit
jesus christ i think you're not serious, but it's like reading a reddit comment section. your "debate" skills are lacking even for reddit standard, buddy.

(Anonymous) 2024-08-09 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
What the hell are you going on about? Transwomen are biologically women. If pheromones exist, they'd have the same ones as ciswomen. Why would I not be serious?

(Anonymous) 2024-08-09 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
It seems you don't understand the TRANS part of trans women.

There's a reason why they often spend thousands of dollars TRANSitioning : going on hormone therapy to increase their estrogen levels and decrease testosterone to gain Female secondary sex characteristics and make their hormone levels closer to a cis woman's than a cis man's. Sometimes even having bottom surgery to turn their penis into a vagina.

Ok, but that's all because with someone who's trans there's a mismatch between sex and the way the body appears, not because they aren't the sex they transition to. They are the sex they transition to. The whole reason they feel dysphoria is because of the mismatch. There are biological markers for this, like the fact that transwomen's brains look more like ciswomen's brains than cismen's, and so on. There's no reason why a transwoman wouldn't have the pheromones of a female since they are female, they just don't look that way on the surface.

AYART
dude if you're serious i'm surprised because that really seemed like a GOTCHA moment from you

(human pheromones are still on debate and possibly a myth, but for conversation's sake:) trans-women who are actively going through HRT may be emitting pheromones similar and/or equal to sexually fertile (ugh) cis women, but studies suggest that pheromones come not only from hormones but mainly from genitals and especially from vaginal fluids. (I thought this was common knowledge in a pseudo-science way but maybe not?)
Now, trans women can have a vagina, but it will never be the same as a cis woman's vagina. And not all trans women go through HRT, come due to lack of access to it, some because they don't want/need to medically transition.
Hence why your "if transwomen are women then they're going to produce the pheromones of women" seems like an insidious GOTCHA moment. It implies that "if trans women are real women then they should emit the same pheromones as cis-women because they are biologically women" which... no.

...i kind of feel dirty writing all this. ...pheromones BLEARGH

(Anonymous) 2024-08-09 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Ok, if they come from fluids that originate in a uterus, I could buy that only ciswomen have certain ones. But it seems to me transwomen would still have them, but that they'd have subtle differences. I don't see any reason why a transwoman wouldn't give off the pheromones of her sex since the underlying biology is there.

(Anonymous) 2024-08-09 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
? trans women have male hormones if they don't get HRT. That's the whole "transness" part of them.
i guess all this depends on where you think pheromones originate from (brain? hormones? vagina?), but pheromones in human are pseudo-science at best, so this is all pretty useless thought exercise in the end.
still, i hope you got why i thought you were trying to "get me". please beware of trans-medical rhetoric in your "trans women are women".
still not sure you're entirely benign, but i don't like to think bad of people on principle. life is too short for that bs byeeeeh (^_^)/

"Transwomen are biologically women."

uh, no, they're not. you're conflating sex with gender, which are two separate things. a trans woman is female, but not biologically. that's why she's a TRANS woman, not a cis woman.

(Anonymous) 2024-08-09 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
I sincerely hope they are not serious

(Anonymous) 2024-08-09 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
i think they don't really understand what "transgender" means, but honestly who cares? as long as they're not going around spreading hate, a little bit of ignorance is fine by me.
thinking about hypothetical pheromones in trans people is not how I envisioned my morning to go lol
