Howdy readers, what're we all reading?

I just found a copy of Pamela Dean's The Secret Country which I remember fondly from years and years ago, so I'm excited to jump into that.

Before that was a random Nora Roberts book that I stumbled upon in a Free Library that was a surprisingly fun read.

I am reading The Passion by Jeanette Winterson.

Just looked it up. That looks surprisingly interesting (surprising just because it's not my usual thing) - how are you finding it so far?

Only on pg. 25 so far. It is good. Imaginative.

that's a really great book. all of her work is great. GUT Symmetries is my favorite of hers - it's not as out there as The Passion but if you like that one I recommend The Powerbook and Lighthousekeeping, both by her.

A great non-fiction read: DESIGNA Technical Secrets of the Traditional Visual Arts.

It’s a compilation of design and mathematical essays. The book also explains how repeated motifs in nature serve as inspiration to many visual artists throughout history. As someone who occasionally dabbles in digital art, I find this fascinating.

I’m so terribly glad I bought this book.

Two books, when I have the energy to read:
The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The Rule of Law: A 4000 Quest to Order the World
