that part specifically (snatch her or beat her) doesn't bother me. that's just frustrated anger when someone is telling you, you don't know your own feelings. i could understand why that would give you the ick, but i don't think that's meant that way and seems more like an archaic phrasing of a pretty common and benign trope.

the part after, where he returns the favor, honestly feels more ick to me, even if i'm grateful he doesn't actually insult her. it just trends too close to a certain type of misogynist thinking in response to rejection that i despise. but...i don't think that's mean to actually be violent either. it's meant to clue valancy in that it's actually quite shit when someone tells you you're faking with all sincerity. but yeah i get why you wouldn't like it.
