Getting started, for the most part.

I have a lot of ideas rolling around, and no idea which way to narrow them down.

Is it a "too many options" kind of thing? Or do some ideas have more meat than others? Would it be possible to combine a couple of ideas, and see where that leads?

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but the only real way I've found to work through that is to start writing some of the ideas out, and see whether they work once they're on paper. It does mean you'll write a bunch of crap, but pretty much all good writing starts as crap, anyway.

So, my recommendation? For the next week, pick one idea each night and write a handful of paragraphs that play off of it. You're likely to find that some ideas still pique your interest; some are more dull than expected; and one or two actually get into your head a bit, and drive you to want to take them further.
