I've made some awesome friends through fandom, but usually basing a friendship on a fandom in common and the 'connection' from it is delusional, as often when people deviate from one fandom and go into separate ones, they become less active on each other's friendslists. Or at least, that's what I've noticed. I've still kept a lot of friends who like different fandoms than I.

10. ....... :| ugh the fact that you care so much about cosplayers period makes you not much higher on the nerd hierarchy than bad cosplayers, i'm sorry to say. I mean, go ahead and make fun of them, but you're kind of not on that much of a higher level than people who actually have a life and don't care about fandom or the internet in such a serious manner. Have fun with being so OMGSHOCKING! and BRUTALLYHONEST!!1, though. :)

8. It never bothers me, since pairings are for fun, but I do hate when people misinterpret fanon as canon, or can't at least respect canon personalities and relationships.

I laugh at bad cosplay, too. But I kind of don't do it in a "Haha! I could do better!" way, since I don't cosplay anyways and think it's all dorky and nerdy (but in a delightful way :D). To me, a bad cosplayer is just about on the same level as a cosplayer that takes 3 years building the perfect costume and spends all of their parents' money on a Con. Rofl.

Same. I don't cosplay, either. I was mainly pointing out the stupidity of the "cosplay is for fun!" defense. Sure, it's "for fun," but costumes can still suck enough to be funny.

As long as no one is getting serious about it, such as "THESE COSPLAYERS RUIN IT FOR THE REST OF US!!" then I don't see an issue with laughing at bad cosplay. :x I tend to laugh at GOOD cosplay. Just..cosplay in general. But I'd hate putting someone's picture up XD I'd feel too bad.

HOW DOES....Oh god. It looks just like vash, wolfwood, and knives..have you ever seen them? XD Wow. That makes me...sad because I actually like Eyeshield and have no idea...how that looked exactly like the trigun cast to me.
