3: I can relate. xD!
6: >>; I've been guilty but not really of that myself a few times.
10: Have fun. :/ Enjoy the ignorance while you can.

3. I've made some awesome friends through fandom, but usually basing a friendship on a fandom in common and the 'connection' from it is delusional, as often when people deviate from one fandom and go into separate ones, they become less active on each other's friendslists. Or at least, that's what I've noticed. I've still kept a lot of friends who like different fandoms than I.

10. ....... :| ugh the fact that you care so much about cosplayers period makes you not much higher on the nerd hierarchy than bad cosplayers, i'm sorry to say. I mean, go ahead and make fun of them, but you're kind of not on that much of a higher level than people who actually have a life and don't care about fandom or the internet in such a serious manner. Have fun with being so OMGSHOCKING! and BRUTALLYHONEST!!1, though. :)

8. It never bothers me, since pairings are for fun, but I do hate when people misinterpret fanon as canon, or can't at least respect canon personalities and relationships.

6. lol me neither

5. I WANT THAT ALBUM DX

Except I have heard the new version of Poor Unfortunate Souls, and I hated it with a passion :[

1. I hear 'ya. My sister and I have gone through several "main fandoms" throughout the years, and every time we always swear to each other that we will stick with it and love it forever, unlike we did with (insert fandom name here) before.

Never seems to work. I feel saddened each time it happens; each time I remember. Sometimes I wish I could go back and love some of those series and characters again, as much as I did once.

1. I feel the same. But then I get over it. =P

4. Obligatory ...CASE???

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Me too. .__.

3. It depends on the fandom for me. If it's one of my more obscure ones *cough*EternalDarkness*cough*, then yes. Totally. :D

AMEN TO THAT, SISTER/BROTHER/IT. AMEN.

Fanon makes me cringe =_=;

[identity profile] nest.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Yeah, I know what you mean. But sometimes it's just kind of time to move onto other things, you know? I usually keep a soft spot in my heart for most of my main fandoms, though, and I'll occasionally revisit them. I may not, like, fangirl stuff like before, but I can still appreciate a good series, even if I've mostly moved on.

8. Eh, I don't think there's anything wrong with deviating from canon as long as it's been developed and actually makes sense. I personally find a lot of canon pairings kind of boring, 'cause I like relationships that are a little more ambiguous and/or left up to fan interpretation. As far as canon personalities go, though, I agree. xD;; It's hard for me to excuse OOC-ness in fandom, even as much as I like to play with a series' relationships and plot.

9. LOL PURIKURA. ♥ I don't even know that much about that series, but purikura always makes my day. xDD

Would someone be patient enough to explain #4 to me?

[identity profile] hako-neko.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
8. Indeed. Fangirlism is just getting silly.

9. You weren't at Sakuracon. *VOMIT*

7. Oh man, waiting for the next book in a series is the worst! I love getting my hands on the newest installment, but then I speed-read it to death in about three days and have nothing to enjoy. (Which explains why I have books on my shelf I've read 8 times...) You think waiting until December is bad? One thing I'm reading right now is eventually going to be a trilogy, and I've been waiting for the last book since middle school. I'm currently a college sophomore... So I know exactly what you mean about waiting for the next one.

10 is my boyfriend.

[identity profile] affection.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I twist some characters around, but not for yaoi and smut. Just crack and/or fun. xD;

[identity profile] dusk.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I understand. It's kind of depressing when that happens, but there's not much you can do. Especially if the series for the fandom is over. I know I used to be a HUGE FMA fan and I thought it'd never be any other way. Now my interest in it is seriously dwindling.

2. I never use a beta for the rare fanfics I write, either. I think a beta is really only necessary if you have bad grammar and spelling and you don't know how to fix it yourself.

9. Agreed! ♥

10. ... Ouch.

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
2. I never use a beta either, in fact I'd never even heard of such a thing before I got involved in fandom and initially when it was mentioned I wondered what the hell a beta was. But I always read over my own writing and I frequently will re-write because I want to do a good job.

4. Only if people are wrong. Otherwise it's cute to see Case sputter. :D

10. you must be fairly secure for you to give us permission to make fun of you.

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
1. So far the only thing I had been obsessed with and stopped, was Little Britain. I just got bored. At the time I was all 'oo i LOVE them!' and being all excited to watch it and so on... now I'm like 'what was I thinking!!'. I don't really feel guilty though. The rest of my fandoms seem to be 'for life', though of course there's stuff that I simply enjoyed and then lost interest in, but that's different than the obsessions. And I do sort of cycle through them, but it's really easy to get me completely back into it...

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
8. Word. It's like canon means nothing anymore. ;^; My poor fandom...

10. HAHAHAHAHA <3 I wanna hug that guy. :[ He's cooler than you, sorry. Like with Man!Faye... and man!Misty... and that man!Tifa I hugged at the Otakon... GOD I LOVE MALE CROSSPLAYING xD (of course, it doesn't matter if girls do it. LOL, double standard!).

And no matter what, outside of the convention, everyone thinks you're an idiot. :[

[identity profile] lorei.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
1. Same, for FMA. I feel bad D:
2. Not a BNF, but I've never used a beta. I know I should revise stuff. I should. Or at least proofread...
9. AGREED.

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
8. What if you keep their personalities canon and write slash/smut?

[identity profile] enjolras.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
1. GRAAAAAR. I feel that way about Trigun! D: I used to be so into it. *emos*

2. Yay for good grammar?

5. NOOOOOOO. ORIGINAL PLEASSSSE.

9. Complete word. I've seen like the BEST cosplay out of the Death Note fandom. *__*

[identity profile] luzerna.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
2. I don't think it's all that rare. Most writers I know just post it and let their reviewers pick up any errors they find.

8. This is why I don't read fanfiction all that often anymore. Have you tried talking to them about it though, or is this one of those "rage in silence" things you have going on?

10. That cosplayer actually lacks a male appendage, I think. I could be wrong.
