I think more remakes should get wildly creative with source material.

An idea emblematic of this that lives rent free in my head is a retelling of Buffy: the Vampire Slayer that is somehow also a Freaky Friday adaptation.

So Joyce would be the slayer for a period of time?

Now I kind of want a show where the 40yo mom has sudden world saving powers and has to juggle it with work and family etc. And not an action star but just a very normal Joyce like character and actress.

In my head, it's how she finds out.

Don't ask me. I've only seen like 20 episodes of Buffy.

I just think it'd be neat if we crossed genres or took more risks with fiction in general.
