Getting ready for my trip next week. First time travelling alone, to a city don't now. Not sure how it's going to feel doing all the touristy stuff on my own for a few days.

I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it a little bit lol.

I actually like doing touristy stuff alone but I have awful anxiety so planning stages are something else

I'm actually trying to be spontaneous and not plan too much ahead (I only booked the hotel last week!) which has been very freeing but also takes some getting used to. But that's why this is just a simple city trip: so if things go wrong I can always course correct easily lol

Oh I don't need big planning to spiral myself out. WHAT IF THIS BUS CRUSHES. WHAT IF I LOST MY DOCUMENTS AND WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BOARD THE TRAIN Etc. WHAT IF I RUPTURE MY EARDRUM. AGAIN (that was awful do not recommend). But funnily enough when I am already there I am quite chill on changing plans

What if I lost my documents is such a real fear, though. I just bought a new power bank in case since all my tickets and reservations are paperless.

Yikes on a bike, a medical emergency while abroad is something I'm always low-key anxious about. At least I'm spared this fear since I'm staying in country.

Did that happen while on vacation or a work trip?

Have fun! I just went in my first big touristy trip alone and ngl there were a few times I was sad not to have someone to share the experience with, but on the whole I had a great time.

This might be a stupid question, but what did you do for food? Go to a restaurant alone? It might be weird but that's the thing I'm dreading most, lol

It can be cultural thing, but I don't find going out to eat alone weird. OK. Expensive restaurants are maybe a bit weird but whatever. Also you can go for street food vendors. Or if your place of stay has some kitchen situation buying stuff. Also maybe businesses do not like lone eaters, but I am sure staff is more than OK with you.
