Where do you hang out that that's the case? Tumblr, the site that originated the term, seems to have embraced it unironically, though I realize that could just be the type of people that I follow.

Glup Shitto was used for Star Wars characters that no one has heard of outside of EU/Legends that people were losing their minds over being in shows. To the detriment of main characters that are more important than the minor, blink-and-you'll-miss-it EU characters.
