I like Deep Space Nine, but, so help me, I wish they'd done less with the evil goo people and more with the Bajor slowly pulling itself out of the debilitating destruction of all they held dear after a cultural genocide stuff of the first couple of seasons. It feels like a unique opportunity squandered. Any other Trek series could do goo people and pew-pew space battles.
