I'm only peripherally into this fandom, and I thought the big pairings (Marcille/Falin and Laios/Kabru) were mutually exclusive? Is there something going on with Shuro as well?

If I had to guess (and it IS a guess), this is beef between Kabru/Laios people and Kabru/Mithrun people. For the purposes of this guess, I'm assuming Kabru/Mithrun people are saying ableist things about Laios. But again, pure speculation here!

If correct, this bites because both pairings are good actually \o/

OP
You're half right. It's between Labru and Kabumisu, but it's some of the Labru people who are literally saying Mithrun being disabled means he can't possibly be in a relationship, especially with the guy who kinda takes care of him for a while.

My guess would be the other way around - Mithrun is pretty explictly shown as disabled in canon, in a way Laios, for all of his autistic traits, isn't; Mithrun needs help just to handle basic self-care tasks, and major accomodations in order to do his work, and I can visualize exactly how opposing shippers would turn "he needs help with stuff" into reasons it's "problematic" to ship him.

Am glad my fandom engagement is entirely reblogged femslash art and reading Chilchuck/Senshi on AO3, I think.
