A good many of the characters can cast spells and shapeshift at will. I wouldn’t let it worry you over much.

Generally, the shapeshifting from their base forms is getting MORE horrifying, though. (At least for the Hazbin characters...It doesn't hold as strongly for the Helluva characters.) Though, to be fair, with Al's full demon form, I'd be more scared of being gored by his antlers than sliced by his teeth.

I think it's mostly the 'cartoonish exaggeration' thing combined with 'they know how to keep their teeth out of the way'.

(Also, Angel Dust has retractable junk, by word of god, so maybe some characters have retractable teeth.)
