Have you ever checked out King of Dragon Pass/Glorantha? I love fandoms where part of the story is told through in-universe history. It might have a similar appeal as soulsborne if what you like most about soulsborne is the ambiguous fictional history of the lore.

Well, it is social commentary (the band wrote on the CD it was on: The song 'Barbie Girl' is a social comment and was not created or approved by the makers of the doll.), but maybe not the one you were thinking of. Critics said the song "rants about the inherent misogyny of Barbie", "alludes to the secret, less-than-wholesome life of every little girl's fave doll", and "simultaneously sends up femininity and Barbie dolls". It was ruled a parody in court.

So, it's definitely commenting on Barbie (or at least common views of Barbie) being sexist, and I think in that there is an implied anticapitalism, because Barbie as a thing is a highly capitalist and consumerist endeavour.

I thought it wasn't about Barbie but about women being treated as objects and therefore comparable to a poseable doll of an adult woman's body with no mind of its own, like Barbie.

I was so underwhelmed by Chris Evans' cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. Sure, it was fun to go with Johnny Storm instead of Steve Rogers, but it didn't really feel like either character - it felt like Chris Evans. Nor did the (hair) styling help - it pretty much looked like he'd just walked out of the Ghosted set.

I write this as someone that this cameo was pretty much made for. God knows I've seen a lot of bad films simply because CE was in them, but this (for me) just didn't work.

One possibility is that the cartoon medium means the character designs are exaggerated rather than diegetic, so their teeth aren't really as sharp as they're portrayed onscreen.
