i always look up guides and walkthroughs before i play games. but only so that i can go in knowing as much about the game as i can since i also always purposely avoid what everyone recommends as 'optimal' and go for gimmick and purposely weak playthroughs. i like mechanical and strategic challenge, but i dont like wasting time on exploration aka possibly missing one of the challenges because i never did the 100 convoluted steps in the right order to find and attempt the superboss in the game.

i dont know whether this counts as playing on easy or hard mode.
