In addition to the characters in the responses above, which I agree on the only murders in the building, I (as a person who is not deaf) think it's done really well -- like there's no question when the character begins to sign, it's not taken as a joke or to be pitied, it's just this dude who happens to be deaf, which as a person who counts as a minority in other ways, I prefer to see. Which isn't to deny all that this particular thing about me implies, and carries, but I'm not just a stereotype or this one particular idea of X. if that makes any sense.

There's a deaf character in the show The Last of Us. Again, I always appreciate when the actors are actually deaf, which the actor actually is, and he's a really good actor, I hope he gets his dreams (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8R7IiUvpKG4). Anyhow, if you know this show...I won't have to explain much more.

I also remember Switched at Birth, but I don't quite remember everything and I have no idea how it holds up and how someone who is deaf/hard of hearing would receive the characterization and experiences portrayed here. I just remember thinking the lead actore was cute and why don't we see him in more things?!(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Berdy)

I really need to watch Last of Us, but I have trouble with post-apocalyptic shows right now sadly
