Fandom: The Marvels

I had a lot of fun watching this movie, and there were plenty of things in it that I liked a lot. I can still understand why other people didn't and I understand completely why it flopped.

The main reason is that the movie wasn't good, and it followed on the heels of a truly terrible Disney+ show. It also wasn't what a lot of superhero movie fans want in a superhero movie. It also tried to appeal to a demographic that really aren't into superhero movies. Some of the dislike was based in misogyny and/or racism in certain fandom quarters, but a lot of it wasn't.

People can dislike things for reasons other than bigotry, and I wish more of fandom understood that. Or maybe they do, and bullying others is the real goal.
