Honestly I think HP fandom needs to put their goggles back on and realize they are just goggles, because I've seen multiple people add 'queerbaiting' to JKR's list of sins and just...no? Fandom's tendency to decide if you're a terrible person in one way you must be awful in all ways is annoying as is (like it can't just be that JKR is transphobic, she must also be racist, sexist, etc., as if the transphobia alone isn't bad enough) and there are plenty of criticisms to lob at HP's writing, but queerbaiting was never one of them. Remus and Sirius were never going to be a thing and she didn't write the books with the intention of convincing anyone that they would be a thing. Fandom did that all on its own. JKR was not obligated to keep the possibility of canon ship alive just because the fangirls latched onto it hardest.

Yeah, Idek where Wolfstar as almost canon even came from.
As someone who read the books without being in the fandom for most of them, because we did not have internet in the house back then, I always thought that Sirius was a bit in love with JAMES but was silent about it cause James loved Lily.

AYRT - I actually agree with you on that. It's irritating.
