So, my supervisor is taking another job. So I will be department head in a month or so. Not sure how I feel about this, TBH. Not sure yet if I'll get a raise. But really nervous about it. And also, I know there are several people in the office who want to get rid of the immigration department altogether.

So on the one hand, part of me wants to be even more serious about finding another job. But another part of me worries about the two paralegals. I don't know.

In this kind of situation, it's best to prioritize yourself and your own welfare. I advise looking harder for another job.

Definitely look for another job! If they do get rid of the immigration department you don't want to be suddenly without a job. You can help the paralegals find something new once you've sorted yourself out.
