Nah, this is ableism. There are plenty of accommodations available. Two my group had used are 1) the person plays a character that can be intermittent, ie not so integral to the balance of the party that it would greatly affect the outcome, or 2) you can’t make it, someone else plays your character along with their own that session.
*shrug* We’ve had two members with cancer and made it work because we cared about them. You’d have figured something out if you actually wanted this person to continue to be in the group.

Flip that script around. The person would have talked to them and figured out a way to make it work if they really wanted to play, instead they just keep screwing over the whole party.

Having a disability or illness doesn't mean you get to continually screw over other people, and that they have to just put up with it.

It's possible to be both disabled and a selfish jerk. I feel pity for your loved ones that you don't understand this. I can easily see you pushing them around and taking advantage of them, and thinking you're Oppressed when they don't want to deal with your ass anymore.

Those are both situations where the alternatives were discussed and planned for by all parties, including the absent player. That's not the same as a player committing and then cancelling repeatedly.

You mean toss them a sympathy party adventure? Kinda patronizing, don't you think.

Nah, it's not. Their condition is not their fault, but it is their responsibility.
