Similarly, anyone who is suspiciously familiar with the age of consent in multiple countries and feels the need to bring it up as a defensive argument ("Ackshully sixteen means she's legal in [country] so it's okay to be attracted to her").

*shrugs* I've seen American fans make complete asses of themselves around people who are writing explicit stories about characters who in their country are legally adults.

I think you can guess that the fallback on "I'm flaming you because in MY country that would be ILLEGAL, and if it isn't the same where you live, that's fucked up!!" endears them to practically no one.
