I agree that writing a summary of your story is also part of the growth as a writer, but I am more annoyed if there is a comment from the author saying they aren't good with summaries. Because everyone has their own writing styles and I'd rather people have fun with their creativity than feel like they have to "perfect" their writing skills, I tend to be a little more forgiving if someone's summary style is just not what I'm used to.
Like, I have expectations for my fanfics, but they aren't always the same sort of expectations I have for trad published books/films/shows.
But at the same time, it's off-putting when fanfic authors signal insecurity by writing things like "I'm not good with summaries" in their notes or in the summary.
