Agreed.

I personally think it's geeks being petty and jealous that a fellow geek's opinions and ideas don't align with theirs, and just because Rian Johnson got to canonize his ideas the jealousy became unbearable to the point that the SW fans went full on hate mode with their gatekeeping.

"Rian Johnson is rich smug Hollywood hack! I'm not jealous that a Star Wars fan got to make a Star Wars film (and how dare he not get the exact same experience and have the same opinions I have about Star Wars)!"

It's entirely possible to dislike or even hate TLJ without thinking that Rian Johnson is personally smug and condescending and that his smug condescending dislike for the fandom permeates the movie.
