1000x this! There's a couple of writers who I really like in my small fandom who write fic that is heads and shoulders above what I could do and it's always presented with this cutsey "tee hee I had a fever of a million degrees and this came to me in a dream, have some at my unedited garbage fic" and it's always pretty good.
It reminds me of being a teenager and lying about not studying for a test, or performatively declaring that I had definitely absolutely failed.
(wile I'm on my soapbox I'm going to say that #how do u even tag?? #author lost lost control of this fic #ummmmm yea- style tagging can get right into the sea)
