Augh I don't go here but I can see what you mean. It's really giving "men can look interesting, women have to be generically pretty" vibes. Plus like, animal heads on basically human bodies can be aesthetically cool, so can people with a couple animal features like tails/ears, but whatever is going on there is in a very offputting in-between spot. (Actually, just googled this and the main cat dude or whatever is also falling into that for me. Maybe I just don't personally have a high enough baseline appreciation of furry aesthetics or whatever though.)

I know it's shallow but I HATE when furry/anthro media has the men look closer to actual animals but the women are reskinned humanoid women with an animal nose. It always makes the media a hard pass for me, it's such boring character design :(

I'm not any fonder of the guys in that picture, but the lady looks super deformed. Like, what's that even supposed to be, a dog-mouse? A squash-fronted ferret? Right with you on that character style being notably ugly, anon.

Agreed. It’s been a while since I read the comics, but I feel like I remember one woman who looked like she belonged in the same world as the men, and that’s only because she was elderly. She was a goat or a deer or something else with a long snout.

yes, she was a deer! to this day it's the one single good female design the artist managed to come up with imo.

If that's typical of them...uh...yeah.

Like...there's a lot of points along the line between full furry and kemonomimi that CAN work (though I'd prefer picking one end of the scale and sticking with it for all the characters), but that ain't it.

I really hate the horrible habit of male characters are proper animals, female characters are generic human women with animal ears and noses.

It's so dull.
