The idea of doing fandom on Facebook is weird to me. I don't use it, but I can kind of get it for nearby conventions or hobby groups? But otherwise I'd like to keep my IRL identity far away from my usernames.

Facebook is only alive because people have always been using it. It may be dead in the US, but here in Mexico it's (disturbingly) common to use.

It is not dead in the US. It is actually turned out to be a really great local resource - groups and events and even networking. Unless you meant dead for fandom stuff, then idk.

I cannot imagine using it for fandom. But I like to be very anonymous for fandom stuff.

DA, Facebook is very active in the US. But I consider it a "normie" site mostly, for school, family, and networking. I've considered making an account on a fake name for local fandom groups/meetups, but I dunno if that's allowed.
