I do like slow burns too, unless the obstacles (including obliviousness or insecurities) get too ridiculous. (Also, if friends of A and B all know that A and B have feelings for each other, but don't say anything, no matter the amount of emotional pain, then I am not going to think much of those friends. If they encourage A and B to talk to each other and A and B just don't, then yeah, that's on A and B, but if they are there, knowing the feelings are serious, and they are rolling their eyes, dropping sly asides, or making bets, I am not down with that.)
