I'm there for the payoff. But it's also important to keep the "burn" interesting. Not a fan when the writers forget what made the relationship interesting in the first or just forget the pairing entirely. Or jerk back and forth with the same kind of conflict until I get bored. Or ugh, turn the payoff into nothing more than a fizzling fart with minimal to no satisfaction.

I can remember almost nothing about this show except that I loved it when it was on air and was sorry to see it leave. Partly it was the novelty of seeing a TV series set in the middle ages, with a good looking cast!

I don't think we should be mean, but maybe a little constructive criticism if they ask for it. Also, I feel like this also happens in M/M ships with whoever fandom designates as the uke.

I have always agreed with this, yeah. It's a very real portrayal of grief and the emptiness you feel when all you knew is just... suddenly over. Not to mention the loss of Aerith is something he has no idea how to cope with. That kind of self-blame and isolation is so common with grief.

I actually really love Advent Children, messy as it is.

Do any of you think certain segments of society are doubling down on shaming people who don't want heterosexual marriage with children for some... ulterior motive?

Especially women, though it's not completely limited to them.

Between J. D. Vance yapping about childless cat ladies, Harrison Butker telling a whole class of women that their marriage and children will be more important than any other accomplishments, and assloads of online comments that imply that NOT being married and having kids is the ultimate failure for a woman (along with being a single mom, of course!). And I swear people are getting more homophobic again (not that it ever went away, but I see it so often now).

Curious for those who like slowburn

Do you also like mystery novels? Seems random, I know, but I cannot stand either because I want answers up front and am impatient! However, if the story starts with them together and then does like a flashback, then that might be okay. Same with if a mystery starts with the answer and then goes back to show you how it was done or walks through the clues.

I made a secret about this ages ago, but I would love a new reboot of seaQuest DSV! It has such potential as a really fun plot, even if the first go round was a bit of a mess.

Yeah this has been growing for several years now. The conservative religious right is making a lot of progress, sadly.

Though to be perfectly honest I'm not sure if the percentage of people who believe this have grown or if the people who have always believed this stuff have just gotten louder and more secure in speaking up and pushing their agenda openly in the mainstream.
