Fandom is evidence that they're not uninterested at all.

Fandom isn't nearly as large as the general audience, though, and when it comes to movies that cost $272 million to make, you need to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, especially the general audience. Box office totals show that the audience that was interested in this movie either failed to buy tickets and go see it, or that the audience for it wasn't as large as Marvel Studios might have hoped. Or maybe both.

It's true that fandom isn't as large as the general audience. But I don't believe that women aren't a major part of the audience for MCU. I flatly don't believe it.

And I'm pretty sure The Marvels flopped with all demos.

You seem to have a very limited experience of the world outside your fandom circles if you think most women in the general audience are into the MCU, or superheroes. Go outside fic-writing fandom and you'll find out very quickly that the majority of superhero fans are dudes.

Probably a majority but not a big majority.

Like, 55% men 45% women, not 70% men.
