Even less related, but I recently read a book by a Japanese author where the entire premise was that living next to a graveyard was spooky (The Graveyard Apartment by Mariko Koike). As someone who lives next to a graveyard and finds it a non-issue, it made me wonder if it’s a cultural difference, or if it was just meant to be a trait of that one character to be so concerned about it.
