I feel like there has always been a gray area between the two, in many fandoms. And plenty of people who enjoy both sides or drift back and forth on what type of gender fuckery they prefer in their kinky fic. So I can accept that some fic just won't be what I expect going in. I definitely do prefer when fic has clear tags and doesn't take sudden twists into different kinks/storylines myself, though.
