Vaccine side effects

(Anonymous) 2024-09-14 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It’s that time of year and I feel like shit. My head hurts too much to sleep, I’m too dizzy to do anything else, and the injection site makes it impossible to move my arm without hissing out loud. At least I’m not throwing up this year though (knock on wood).

I just want to not get sick why is this so much to ask.

You're being more subtle than the usual breed of antivaxxer, I'll give you that. You are just implying and insinuating instead of screaming at us about side effects. Still caught ya though.

If I were an antivaxxer why would I get vaccines?

I get my boosters every year. That doesn't make them fun. 🙄

I think pretending that the vaccine has no side effects is nearly as ridiculous in some ways. Just as science has proven vaccines are effective, it's also proven it's fairly common to experience some nasty side effects for a few days. If you're going to say something like this, you should at least be factual about it.

I get boosters every year, because I have underlying conditions and don't want a bout of covid or the flu to put me in the hospital. I still get sick from the side effects every year too.

Acknowledging that the vaccine has unpleasant side effects doesn't make you an anti-vaxxer. You're not Sherlock Holmes.

I love vaccines.

Hell yes!

Re: Vaccine side effects

I was unable to get a booster in time and finally hit the covid jackpot after 4 years. I would rather have all the side effects of a vaccine instead of this absolute fever cough chills cough body aching top to bottom bull fucking shit.

Walgreens refused to give me the COVID injection today. Their new rule is anyone who has ever had an even slightly negative reaction to any vaccine should be getting all their vaccines as doctors. So I'm going to have to call my primary on Monday and make an appointment to get it.

Yes, I get slight side effects with vaccines, I often feel sick for a few days. Not remotely bad as actually getting COVID.

The covid vaccine hurts way more than flu for me. The flu one doesn't bother me usually. I've found that (this may not work now) it helps to do arm exercises to reduce the pain. I actually lifted a small weight periodically with the arm they injected into. It disperses the medication quicker.

I agree! The side effects of the COVID vax are the worst I’ve ever had, but I’d rather deal with them for 2-3 days than COVID.

Literally just came out of my fever today from my vaccine-induced sickness, I'm very sorry! I hope you don't end up throwing up and that you feel better soon.

I'm sorry they're hitting you so hard. I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about your illness.

I've gotten a cold a few times from flu shots, and the first time I got the COVID booster I was drained of energy for a couple days.

Our bodies are strange but they're awesome for protecting us. I hope you get plenty of rest a day start to feel better soon

Got my covid and flu vaccines today too. Luckily no side effects right now but my arm hurts like a bitch. Hope you feel better!

We get vaccines so we're not worse off than usual when we DO get sick. Or do you want to self inoculate or huff poo fumes like they used to?

Yeah, I always get hit hard by them, but I've had actual flu once, never again. On the plus side, it means you're having a good immune response to the vaccine.

I got both my covid and flu vaccines a couple weeks ago. Both my arms were sore but the covid side was a little worse. I always get a headache from it and this time was no different except that I was a lot quicker to take a Tylenol, which I highly recommend you do if you haven't already. Sometimes the vaccine keeps me awake the night I get it but not this time, probably because I took the Tylenol.

I felt totally fine the next day but I did start my day a little loopy. It took me about five minutes to figure out how to put my bra on because I kept putting it on backwards Lol. Other than that everything was normal.

I'm getting my covid and flu shots Tuesday and I took Wednesday off, because even just the covid shot makes me nauseous and headachy (actual covid was like really horrible food poisoning plus chills, fever, and migraine, so still worth it.)

I may be able to get my second of three HPV shots too. I couldn't afford them back when they were first available and it turns out being an ace virgin is good for something (my insurance covering the HPV shots even though I'm over 40.)

COVID vaxx tends to not bother me but I once did feel a bit run down a day after the flu vaxx. But in general, vaccines give me no symptoms. I've been lucky.

I need to get a tetanus shot again one of these days but I don't look forward to it because I couldn't move my arm for several days the last time.

I had all my vaccines and never got side effects. I never got covid either. I feel like that baby and that old bum in the Andromeda Strain.
