It might just be where you are in life at the moment? I went through a period of 7 or 8 years where my fannishness waned and then just was gone for a while. And then I played a video game and my fandom brain exploded about it, which I think was the combination of encountering something I could be fannish about when I was in a place in my life where I could be fannish. There's a huge awkward "gap" in my AO3 accounts (for example) because of that long period, but the fannishness did eventually come back. But my life circumstances needed to change pretty drastically for that to happen.
