I'm with you on most of that, I am, and I don't know if you chose the movies in the image or not, but I would not include Scream as a movie that was not self-aware, in fact, I would say being self-aware one of its defining characteristics. And of your list, self-aware is something I'm okay with if the movie isn't too precious with it. Anyway, there are some more recent movies I would consider not too gross, not too gory, not too horrifying, and fun along with old school slashers - Happy Death Day, Happy Death Day 2U, and Freaky (all three are by the same director).

I thought having "Scream" in the photo was a bit wrong, but thought maybe I was being too nitpicky XD

And I agree with the Christopher Landon films.
