Aw I hate when something I like at the beginning takes a narrative turn away from what I enjoyed about it. Whether it’s a character or a plot line or a setting, it’s always a shame. I couldn’t get into Korra because I hated the setting and really missed the pre-industrial world of ATLA.

as a person who likes Star Wars TFA and got invested in all these potential relationships between Rey, Finn and Poe, only to be it snuffed out in TLJ, I completely agree.

I feel like the trailers have been avoiding Jayce (as well as focusing on Mel's mother instead of Mel) to avoid spoilers on the whole "bombing of the Council" thing, and perhaps Viktor if they go straight into his becoming the Machine Herald. I mean, anyone familar with LoL canon knows Jayce is fine and what happens to Viktor, but Arcane-only viewers won't, so it makes sense to avoid those plot points in trailers. Given we're seeing a lot of the aftereffects of the Council bombing in the s2 trailers as well as getting Singed and Vander/Warwick, I don't think Magitech and the duo are being dropped at all.

This was my assumption as well. This level of withholding feels pretty standard when you're trying not to spoil the results of a cliffhanger.

Yeah I'm a casual enjoyer of the show and know nothing of the game's lore, so when I read the secret I was like "Isn't that... because they're... dead?"

Oh no! I'm so sorry, I should have put a spoiler alert on my comment... I'm so sorry, anon!!

OP
I knooow. In theory, I know. And it definitely makes total sense and all but I'm still grumpy about it. Viktor is the only character I'm really invested in and I would have liked to get at least a tiny glimpse to get into the hype. I understand why they didn't include them in the trailers but still.

Yeah, I think even a glimpse of Viktor would have been neat, to be honest. Give a little taste of the shenanigans he's up to.
