Why?

It's not like they're animals. If they have comparable intelligence, the ability to consent and mostly compatible anatomy, why is it 'creepy'?

I only ask because in any given setting, if romancable companions is a thing, I am never going for the humans if there's a different option that has a great story and interesting personality.

Turian? Gimme. Asari? Yes. Ghoul? My ghoul. Synth? Absolutely. Elf? Vampire? Shapeshifter? Tiefling? All day.

Human? Boring. Dull option.

THis is weird to me. You do you. But as long as their are sapient, adult beings with free will and ability to consent, I see no problem with a relationship between beings of different species.

I feel the same, OP. Very into vampires and not werewolves. Honestly I just find vampires more interesting in general. But I can also see why shapeshifters in general would be a thing for others. Most of the time werewolves aren't full-on wolves, and definitely in media with canon romances with werewolves they certainly aren't.

The thing is, making fictional cops awesome people, or flawed people whose flaws aren't called out even though they are exactly what real cops do that is bad (like attacking suspects for example) is a problem. It is part of the normalizing of bad cop behavior generally as a society.

That being said, I do sometimes like cop shows, and I don't think that is wrong. But I also don't think it is wrong to call out how our media in general romanticizes cops and helps the whitewashing of how bad they actually are in real life.

I find werewolves fascinating! And like, werewolf characters can obviously still be sexy. If you're a tough grizzled badass, that's going to be sexy whether you're a werewolf or not. But wolf forms are not sexy to me. Not hot.

I think the tricky thing is there are multiple definitions of art, and not everyone is using it the same way. Art can mean broadly any creative creations. But there are also more narrow definitions that are equally valid depending on the context. I think people just should make clear which definition they are using. And also there needs to be more of a recognition of how subjective art is and that not everyone defines "bad" the same way and that is okay.
