Well, if it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you.

Couldn't be me, though! I will never stop wanting to fuck aliens.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Why?

It's not like they're animals. If they have comparable intelligence, the ability to consent and mostly compatible anatomy, why is it 'creepy'?

I only ask because in any given setting, if romancable companions is a thing, I am never going for the humans if there's a different option that has a great story and interesting personality.

Turian? Gimme. Asari? Yes. Ghoul? My ghoul. Synth? Absolutely. Elf? Vampire? Shapeshifter? Tiefling? All day.

Human? Boring. Dull option.

Ah, thank you for reminding me how disappointing FO4's romance options were. I love Hancock and Curie and always romance them (yay, poly potential), but Nick, Codsworth, Ada, pre-Synthing Curie and Strong (not that I'd romance him, but think he should be for the people who'd like to...) being off the table will always make me sad (OK, there is a mod to fix the Nick issue, and it's good, but...vanilla.) (I like the humans, too (well, Piper and MacReady, mostly), but wouldn't bother with them if you had to lock down to a single LI.)

I'll forever be annoyed the game never let us officially date Nick.

At least I had Hancock. But still, principle of the matter. Where's my hot detective robot romance option?

Yeah, I love Hancock but I fully resent not being able to romance Nick or X6-88.

I guess Curie and Danse are okay, aside from the latter being a massive Brotherhood weenie, but I have 0 interest in any of the humans.

All the humans I'd like to romance are unavailable too, like Mags Black and Mason, boo.

THis is weird to me. You do you. But as long as their are sapient, adult beings with free will and ability to consent, I see no problem with a relationship between beings of different species.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you saying race mixing creeps you out?

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Very bad-faith, waffles-y post. Not good at all.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
What does waffles-y mean in this context?

Also they should have added the /s or /joking. Poor form.

I too get a troll vibe from this secret too

I get the feeling that OP would be voting against interracial marriages 50-80 years ago ....

(Anonymous) 2024-09-29 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
I know this is probably bait, just because someone has dumb opinion on fictional sapient interspecies relationships doesn't automatically correlate to being racist IRL. I thought this comm was closer to the "fiction isn't reality" side.

That's interesting. Is it just not your thing, or just you just find it actually immoral? I've never been into ME's options because they're not my bag, but I generally have no problem with the concept of my human characters smooching aliens.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
OP here. I actually consider the relationships to be bestiality.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-29 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Why? Animals aren't capable of consenting, but the aliens absolutely are. I'm just really interested in why you would think that.

whoof I can see why this is secret...

I am 100% you do you, more for me, but I can't help but feels like your addition about humans and elves in Tolkien is a little too unfortunate. Please explain to me how they're soooooo different as to be weird to be compatible, and don't mention the ears because the ears aren't even canon in the books. You can be "hm certain aliens are too close to the monterfucker line for me, interspecies is not my thing" but throwing in elves made it weird.

Didn’t Tolkien have some weird thing about how elven souls are different from human souls?

Man, a while ago I would be very miffed, given the aliens are sapient and capable of consent and are on equal footing with the human species. But then with the recent Planet of the Apes movies and the human/ape fandom pairings I've realized maybe I'm not so okay with human/other pairings after all. I used to think I was cool with alien/monster-fucking and relationships, but now I guess I gotta dig a bit deeper on that. Hm.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it's because they're monkeys and look like real animals, despite having human intelligence in the movies? I like human/furry ships in other fandoms, but this comment made me pause to think maybe I have a double standard for cases like that. Maybe if the apes were more cartoony I'd be fine with it, but oof.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair the Apes look like real life apes and are actual apes in-universe (albeit with uplifted intelligence). I think the uncanny Valley is what's turning you off. They're much closer to animals than aliens/monsters.

I just think of them as furries.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-29 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
apes are real tho so that's what makes it different

(Anonymous) 2024-09-28 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like this about aliens, but not about robots.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-29 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
What do you mean?
