NaNoWriMo alternatives

I have always wanted to participate in NaNo (and even tried a couple times) but November has always sucked for me, it is crazy busy and I am usually deep in seasonal depression by then. Is there an alt group that does the same thing but in February or something?

Obviously I could do this challenge on my own at any time but I like the pressure and comradery of it being a big social group thing.

Forgot to add I was looking for non-NaNo groups, sorry!

I might just do one of their "camps" in April or July if nothing else pops up.
