If it's streamer and influencer types, they're doing this as their job so it's all tax deductible and written off as business expenses. And games silently sponsor them and give them free pulls a lot or pay them back in sponsorship deals.

If it's regular people, the easy answer is addiction, and just like with many other addictions, they get the money by pulling money from other places in their lives that could have used it. Sure, I'm sure some of them are quietly rich and this is their hobby, but what are the chances it's all or most of them?

I see him as a service top. Granted, I only ship him with Bulma. And a virgin before he met Bulma.

What's the most money you've ever spent on a gacha type game?

(Anonymous) 2024-10-03 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you regret it?

(Anonymous) 2024-10-03 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I see him as switch, but he as top obviously has to be better than Kakarot.

(Anonymous) 2024-10-03 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a genuinely weird thing to be baffled by. I would presume they get their disposable income from their jobs?

I ship them as well too. But I don't think he was virgin because... non-con stuff he could do before to land on Earth.
Although it makes me think in that stupiddoodlesdbz where Vegeta is staring at Bulma's vagina and calls it "his new best friend" lol

Zero.

I had to look up what a gacha game was lol

(Anonymous) 2024-10-03 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably $800-900 or so over the life of the game, and no, I don't regret it, because I played the game and had fun with it for a few years running. To me it's no different than spending money on concerts or amusement park tickets or going out to eat. It was money spent on entertainment and it fulfilled that purpose.

When I started playing mobile games, I was unemployed. That meant having plenty of time for 3-4 games because I was pretty much glued to my phone every day but I had no money to spend on them. Now that I'm employed, I have the money but no time at all so I stopped playing gradually. I just hated the FOMO that came with not being able to join a new event as soon as it started and to do dailies every 5 hours.

How some players have both time and money is a mystery to me as well.

I used to be addicted to Gaia when I was in college and I would spend roughly a hundred dollars when a new RIG came out. I don't spend money on games anymore except for things like 'no ads ever' or 'speed up time' for like $3-$5 a pop

Thanks for pointing it out like this. I've been chewing my cheek thinking that I should feel guilty for spending so much money on a game but when people spent $2k plus to see Taylor Swift or some such concert, it feels like a better investment.

The amount of time required really depends on the game and whether you're at the "endgame" stage or not. If you are, dailies tend to be very quick since there isn't much you need to do in order to stay current.

I play 4 different gachas and my dailies for all of them take me under 20 minutes. I'm caught up on all of the story for the games so all I really need to do at this point is my dailies and farming whatever event is up, which I can do with a few taps.
