So true! I will VERY (VERY!) occasionally pay for a game to get rid of the ads, but the worst is when they hook you and then start serving those ad monstrosities.

It IS the fault of the developers whose games you play. They choose what ad package they purchase and have chosen to subject their users to longer ads that require multiple steps of interaction. They have options to not get those but they decided the small difference in ad package cost was worth it for their benefit instead of paying a little more to benefit their users.

Why should they care about their users? We're talking about phone games here, I feel like the exploitative nature of the whole deal is right on the surface.

Sorry you've gone through that OP. I wouldn't mind supporting creators with adverts if it wasn't getting so aggressively invasive these days. There really needs to be a review to tackle these worsening and potentially scammy ads (ideally there would be no advertisement online ever, but sadly that's not the reality we live in rn).

This is why I've completely stopped picking up games that don't have a paid ad-free version or in-app pay-to-remove-ads option. I don't have the patience OR steady-enough fingers to deal with modern ultra-invasive ads. Either let me avoid them or you're not getting my download.

This means I've been mainly playing Peglin, but I'm fine with that.

Goddddd, me with Duolingo this past year. It *never* used to be this bad. (Doesn't help that I'm on the free version, so every other ad is them trying to get me to pay for DuolingoMAX.)

If it takes me three clicks to get rid of your ad, I am never going to use your product. And no, I won’t pay for ad-free or allow tracking. I am cheap, and patient, but vindictive.
