Ugh that is sad. Why are people such shits?

I don't really keep up with him or celeb gossip/news in general, so all I know about him is from Nirvana and then he was promoting a book a bit ago and had some cute stories about being a dad. He just seemed like a cool kind of normal (as normal as you can be in celeb land) good guy.

People aren't one thing or another. They're usually good in some respects, and not good in others.

But, honestly, as much as it sucks...cheating is kind of normal. Cheating happens in something like a quarter of marriages and 2/5ths of relationships. It's likely that you personally know someone who has cheated on a partner.

It really isn't that normal.

When it happens in ~40% of relationships, then yeah, that's pretty normal.

"Normal" isn't a synonym for "good." It just means, "it's typical for this thing to happen."

As someone with a face that cheaters just like to confess to: you'd be surprised.

I'm not shocked anymore when some coworker or acquaintance randomly confesses their affair to me anymore, but what's truly surprising to me is how many spouses decide to stay with their cheating partners. Many of them do seem to make it work long-term, so kudos to them, seems to have been the right decision. But personally I just couldn't.
